Hosted by Rosecrance, a respected provider of services for individuals with substance problems, we are hosting a series of advanced clinician six-hour interactive educational professional development series (with CE's) to add to the clinician's framework and approach to therapy work with complex patients.

This training is designed for advanced clinicians who want to augment their existing skills working with complex, chronic, and multi-symptomatic clients. The presenters will focus on eating disorders, self-injury, substance abuse, and trauma.

Presenters:
John Levitt, PhD
Dr. Levitt has more than 40 years’ experience working with eating disorders, self-injury, trauma, and the complex relapsing client. He has numerous publications and has presented both nationally and internationally on the topics of eating disorders, trauma, self-injury, complex symptomatology, assessment and intervention.

Kammie Juzwin, PsyD
Dr. Juzwin is a forensic police psychologist, who works with First Responders on trauma related issues. She specializes in complex patient management, self-injury, mood disorders, trauma, and eating disorders.

Annmarie Belmonte, PsyD
Dr. Belmonte specializes in eating disorders, and mood and anxiety problems. She also has extensive experience working with athletes and families of chronic eating disordered clients.

Consultation and professional development for advanced clinicians who work with the Complex and Symptomatic Clients who present with Eating Disorders, Self-Injury, Trauma Survivors and Substance Abuse.  


Professional supervision & consultation is an important aspect of our ongoing development.

Location St. Charles Office

This series will be offered to small groups of 8-10.  Sign up will be for three sessions, the entire series will be intervention and model focused, specific elements per session.  Each session will be case-driven in focus, applying the principles of the SPM and current EBP to clinical practice. 

TOPICS:

Session One:  Understanding the Chronically Complex & Relapsing Client in the Therapeutic relationship 


Session Two: Therapeutic relationship engagement, treatment planning, goal setting, and evaluating of progress


Session Three: Therapeutic relationship engagement and ongoing management, ethical considerations in treatment.


Session Four: Structural Process Model, Psychological Position and application to the therapeutic relationship elements


Session Five: Structural Process Model and issues of intervention and relapse


Session Six: Structural Process Model and issues of intervention and evaluation of what is and is not working in treatment


Session Seven: Structural Process Model and intervention foundations, considering risk factors


Session Eight: Structural Process Model and interventions with consideration of developmental & maturational elements
